Derrick Pegg
I specialize in helping clients to define and reach their goals. I use a multi-dimensional and client-centered approach to care which depends on the needs of the individual. I have extensive experience working with chronic health issues, chronic pain, ADHD, and LGBTQ related issues. Also, the issues related to those, such as: depression, anxiety, and trauma.
For me, therapy is about creating a nonjudgemental space where you feel comfortable to express whatever it is that you took time out of your week to talk about. In our sessions, we will work together to identify your goals and develop strategies to achieve them. My goal is to help you discover the tools and insights needed to navigate life with greater ease and confidence. I have extensive experience working with the 2SLGBTQ+ community, neurodivergence, chronic pain, HIV, and other chronic health issues.
I practice Psychodynamic therapy. The basic goal of Psychodynamic therapy is to help people reach their goals by uncovering the patterns and unconscious thoughts and feelings that lead to unhappiness. Some work with chronic health issues and ADHD requires blending in CBT. However, I only use worksheets if that is something that has benefitted you in the past
I'm passionate about working with ADHD, chronic health, and LGBTQ+ issues because I fall under all three of those categories myself. Together, we will tailor therapy to the multiple intersections of your identities. Whether you're a mother working with autoimmune issues or a LGBTQ+ person with depression and anxiety, we will find what works best for you.
